2024 MAZDA CX-5 2.5S Select

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 has a way of standing out among competing SUVs with its premium feel and high-performance engines. Here at Paretti Mazda Covington, we even think this SUV stands up to tough competitors like the 2024 Toyota RAV4. Here’s a look at what you might like about one of our favorite Mazda models.

Ideal for Tall Passengers

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 offers a roomy, well-appointed interior with plenty of room for cargo and passengers. If you usually need your rear seat for taller adult passengers, the Mazda model is likely a better fit for you than the Toyota RAV4, because rear legroom measures 39.6 inches in the Mazda CX-5 and 37.8 inches in the Toyota SUV.

Standard All-Wheel Drive Capabilities

Unlike many of its competitors, the 2024 Mazda CX-5 makes its i-ACTIV® AWD system a standard feature. This SUV can handle rough road conditions and stormy weather with confidence. The 2024 Toyota RAV4 is a capable vehicle, but it charges extra for its all-wheel drive capabilities.

Plenty of Towing Capacity

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is offered with two powerful engines, a 187-horsepower naturally aspirated engine, and a turbo unit that can put out 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The Toyota SUV has a 203-horsepower engine, but its suspension and steering are tuned differently, ensuring that even the lower-powered Mazda model is more engaging to drive.

There’s more to the power picture. The Mazda SUV also has a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. The Toyota RAV4 can tow 1,500 pounds across most trims, though one variant – the heavier-framed (and more expensive) TRD Pro – can tow 3,500 pounds.
