2025 MAZDA CX-70

The Mazda SUV lineup keeps growing, and if you’re unsure which model is right for you, the experts here at Paretti Mazda of Covington can help you. One model we’re getting a lot of questions about lately is the 2025 Mazda CX-70, which is arriving at dealerships later this year. How does it compare to an existing model, like the 2024 Mazda CX-5? Here’s what you need to know.

Engine Options

These two SUVs have a lot in common, but they differ in a significant way: they offer entirely different engine options. The 2024 Mazda CX-5 has two engine options, including an impressive turbo unit that can produce 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

The 2025 Mazda CX-70 is even more powerful. A mild-hybrid setup with a 3.3-liter turbo engine produces 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Drivers who want to go green can opt for a plug-in hybrid with an all-electric driving mode.

Seating For Five

Both models offer seating for five, similar to most Mazda SUVs. However, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 is somewhat larger overall than the 2024 Mazda CX-5 because it is built on the same platform as the 2024 Mazda CX-90, a three-row SUV and the largest model in our lineup.

Can They Tow?

If you need towing power, the 2024 Mazda CX-5 can handle 2,000 pounds when properly equipped. If that’s not quite enough for you, then you’ll want the larger 2025 Mazda CX-70 and its 5,000 pounds of towing capacity.
